Flexibility Training

Flexibility and relaxing training

Some of the keys in Flexibility:

BREATH - The foundation. Most people do not use Breath’s full potential.  I often disagree with how Breathing is taught in standard Pilates.  It's often at best, incomplete.

CENTER OF GRAVITY
– Learn where to find it, and how to adjust your posture. Posture is always at the root of pain/athletic injury, and part of your personalized program.

LEARN HOW YOUR JOINTS ARE DESIGNED TO MOVE FREELY
- This allows us to develop pain-free movement and optimize athletic performance.

UNLOCKING WITH PRESSURE POINTS
- In a Lahela-Fit Pilates session, we can include gentle stretches with pressure points.  I have my state licensing for therapeutic massage and am also Board Certified through NCBTMB.  State and NCBTMB certifications since 2001.

EASY TECHNIQUES
- We don’t force ourselves into flexibility, we relax into it. This also goes for upgrading athletic performance. I can show you some quick techniques that you can use every day. In fact, I hope you do!
Flexibility Training

WHAT PREVENTS FLEXIBILITY -- WHO KNEW?

  • Inefficient Breathing -- Isn't it just inhale, exhale?
  • Pulling belly button to spine.   Pilates is starting to change that cue...
  • GRIPPING muscles in order to attain "stability."  It doesn't work so well.
  • Straining into Stretch.  There's a much better way...
  • And of course, your POSTURE and ALIGNMENT make a difference.

“Working with Lahela on the Cadillac and Reformer really makes my low back feel so much better, and she helped me to really pinpoint the root cause of pain.

When I had a muscle spasm after overdoing some work, Lahela showed me how to stop it in less than a minute. I used to think of Pilates as exercise for women only, but Lahela totally changed my mind.

She can make it challenging or relaxing, whatever I feel like doing.”
